It works: IPOD Intergration kid in Europe (Inkluding stering wheel control)

Hi to all

I used so many, many hours to find out this, so I would like to save you some of the trouble.

The navigation Head Unite in Europe is called a REJ and it - looks - very simialy to the US version that is called REC. The difference is that the REC is prepered for a SAT-radio, and the European REJ is not.

The most disscussed Ipod integration kid in theise forums is the MOPAR system. But as Jjdeguzman found out the hard way... it does not work with the European REJ Head unite. The reason is that the Mopar uses the sat-radio system.

Read more here:
Mopar iPod Intergration w/ new iPod Classic-don't upgrade firmware

So I took the chance and bougth the Peripheral CHYP that also is a IPOD integration kid. The difference is, that the CHYP uses the VES (Video intertainment system), that my car is prepard for(2007 model). It cost 120 dollars.

You can find the product hear need from http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/products.aspx :

It really works fine. I can skip to the next song on the steeringwheele, and also skip through playlist at the Head Unite. Only thing it dos not do... :-( Is putting the text from the Ipod to the Head Unite.

Sound quality is good, and I use a IPOD 160GB with 90GB on.

Hope you can use this information
