Question Overheating ????

I was wondering if this is possible.

PROBLEM: When trying to use my NAV I keep getting a disc error & system wont work. When I eject the Nav CD its really hot.

Q: Is it possible that the fan on the NAV unit is not working & causing the unit to overheat & cause the system to fail ?????

I have the same question...

Also, has anyone had their Nav repaired instead of replaced for this "DVD-ROM disc error"? I have done about everything possible from my research here and other sites.

If anyone has sent theirs off, please give recommendations.

Don't really want to replace with an aftermarket because I like my EVIC, BT and Sirius.
