you can get a new antenna on ebay with the new yellow plug for about $40. it doesnt have to mount on the roof, can just be mounted on or under the dash, itll work fine. cheap fix

need help rewiring sat antenna for mygig

Quote:
For the Sat antenna wire. I used a extension cable to run the roof antenna wire to the MYGIG. Chrysler part#05064159AD.

i have a 2007 chrysler 300c and had a stock radio with sat antenna just upgraded to the mygig with the lockpick adapter but need help completing the job. i was told that the old connection would not work. need some guidance.

How did you go about hooking up the sat antenna wire. i have everything esle set up and working. how did you get to the roof to run the wire to the exisiting antenna.

First off welcome!!!!

Second, I wouldn't try to get it at the roof, the headliner is to big of a pain in the A$$ to deal with, I would pull the antenna wire from the old sat receiver in the trunk up towards the back seat(need to do this since the extension isn't long enough to reach back to the old sat receiver), then plug the extension cable in and run to the mygig, or you can just use (2) extension cables and run the extension straight back to the old sat receiver.

this might be a dumb question but how do i get to the old wire to pull it back towards the rear seats, where is it even located at, and do i need to splice any wires or does the extension wire just plug right up

the extension cable should be plug and play. the sat receiver is located in the trunk behind the left side trim panel. once removed you should see it secured to the inner trunk area with a bracket. simply unplug the antenna and connect the extension cable and run the the front of the car.

note: some people who have been having issues with not getting the sat info to display on their evic have used a 2 way splitter (readily available on ebay) added on the end. plug the single side of the splitter into the receiver. connect the oem antenna cable to one side of the split and the extension cable to the other. this uses both the receiver in the car (for the evic display) and the receiver in the mygig for the sound. its a get around for one of the lockpick issues.

now, if they would just sort out the clock!

Thought you all might like to see the current incarnation of the Mygig radio in my 2006 300C. The small "cubby" was made out of ABS and glued in place to the bezel. Everything works including both forward and reverse cameras, however I still have an audio problem with the right front speaker. A new adapter is on the way as I write this.

Got my 10-pin harness extension today. Wired up the two RCA video plugs as indicated by 300MAG and Presto! I know have working audio and video from the rear VES!
I installed the trimmed '08 bezel and everything looks great!!

Only problems is with the Siruis station names not appearing on the EVIC (and the clock of course).

PukkaSRT8, I thought enabling Sirus with the Starscan will cause the EVIC to look for the old SAT receiver and display the "No Signal" message. Is this not correct?

also, Here are the photos of my camera installation.
