Modify factory stereo (Moved)

This has probably been asked already but I can not find, and I just got my 06 300C.

My "C" does not have a aux plug, and I want to install one. I have read that some stereos have an open plug on the back, and this is recommended for the add on aux.

How do I know if my factory stereo has the plug on the back without opening up the dash so I may buy the add on and not have to splice wires?

Please advise. Thanks yflpos

post your radio code. It should be right on the front of the unit. it would be something like REN, REC, RAQ, REF, etc....

once we have that we can make some suggestions.

REF does not have an aux in by itself. But you're in luck. I have the REF.

There are 2 units to give yourself an aux in.

PAC and Peripheral are the companies, but I suspect they both are built by PAC.

AAI-CHY PAC
CHYX Peripheral

Get this unit and it will give you 2 aux inputs. You're radio will display
SAT when using them and channel 1 is one input, channel 2 is the other.

I am using one of these for my XM commander it works really well.

BTW, those 2 units work with other radio codes also. Sorry if I gave that impression it was only for the REF radio.

I think the PAC web site lists the actual radio codes that the unit will
support.

So which one of the radio codes actually has the hard-to-find aux in on the back??

Just read this on the PAC site in relation to the AAI-CHY:

Vehicle Compatibility Notes
Compatible with REF, REC, RAK & RAQ model radios. The model number is indicated on the face of the radio. If the vehicle is equipped with both satellite radio and rear seat entertainment (RSE), one of these devices will have to be disconnected. If the vehicle is equipped with a single disc CD player (Model: REF) that also has satellite radio, the satellite radio will have to be disconnected. The REF model radio does not support RSE therefore you do not have the option of emulating it.

What?!? I've got Sat and RSE - one gets disconnected? That sucks!! Guess I will continue to plug into the RSE until someone stops making EVERYTHING for the iPod and NOTHING for the Zune.
