Just as an update I installed the new Beats 522-watt amp. It swapped directly with my 276-watt amp with no issues whatsoever. And since I do have "premium" speakers, they were able to handle the power of the new amp perfectly. It has made a remarkable difference in the power and output of these speakers! Can't wait to see the difference once I swap out the speakers themselves.
If anyone's got any suggestions for my other questions that would be extremely helpful. Thanks again!

Waiting for loaded 2013 300S to arrive in summer.
The Beats amp is definitely larger in size but not much. It still mounts just fine. The amp is located under the steering wheel and to the left, it's pretty easy to get to. The hardest part is removing the kicker panel, which is the one near your knees when driving and has the trunk and lighting controls. I can post instructions for anyone interested.
Here are some pics:

The 2010 has 4 Ohm speakers? I thought they were 2 Ohm.

This will very likely not work in the first gen 300's as they are factory parts and the wiring/connecters are all different in the second gens. Also, I bought my amp from LKQ of Belleville, Michigan.
To get to the amp, you will need to:
1.) Disconnect the negative battery terminal: open the trunk, lift up the floor panel, and use a 13-mm socket to remove the bolt and lift up the connector.
2.) Open the driver's side door and peel back the weather strip around the left end of the dash panel. The very end piece of the dash, which has a round vent on it, is held on by 3 clips. Just pull on the piece with enough force and it will pop off.
3.) Remove the 2 screws holding the kicker panel in place.
4.) The kicker panel is now only held in by clips. Pull with enough force to release it from the clips.
5.) Disconnect all wiring harnesses and the parking brake from the kicker panel. Put panel aside.
6.) Remove the footwell cover; it is the big carpet-like piece directly behind the kicker panel and sits directly above your feet. It is held in by plastic clips which can be pried out using a flathead screwdriver.
7.) After removal of the cover, unplug the 2 harnesses for the factory amp. One black and one white.
8.) Look at the amp; to the right of it is a smaller black box. On my 300, it was held in with one screw. Remove this screw and move the small black box aside. Complete removal is not necessary.
9.) The amp is held in with 3 screws (might be bolts, can't remember). The amp can now be removed.
10.) Reverse procedure to install new amp.
If you guys want I can post a separate thread for this with pics and see if it can be "stickied". I will have to make it later when I have time to redo the steps and get some pics though.

Dude good post, how do you learn these things.I would not have a clue as to how to get at the amp let alone know it was under there.Same goes with the lights and hids you did...very helpful stuff....any thoughts on doing a lockpick

No problem. These things are easy when your parents have owned the state's largest auto repair shop.
Lockpick, I asked for Christmas and didn't get but I am wanting to do it! The only issue would be finding space behind the radio but it is probably not a big deal. I installed one in my 2008 Tahoe that had factory nav and the space behind that radio was very limited and it took some work getting the lockpick to fit. But it is a neat device. I plan on installing one and either running turn signal-activated cameras in the sideview mirrors, or running one in the front. I emailed their tech support and the lockpick only supports 3 cameras including the factory reverse camera if equipped. Meaning I can't have the reverse, side, and front cameras, I have to give one up. Plus the ability to watch movies would be awesome but not sure how distracting it could be.
