SD Card limits

Are there any specific constraints on artwork tagged on mp3s on an SD card for the UConnect 8.4n?

I can see some artwork but not all. Haven't narrowed down what is similar between the art that does appear and between that which doesn't.

I have the same issue, not sure what's going on.

I thought I read somewhere it needs to be embedded rather than having a folder.jpg file. That, or vise versa. Try that in your investigations and let us know. ta.

I've been embedding the art on every individual file. Some works, some doesn't.

I thought it was a matter of physical dimensions but I have some art that's 500x500 pixels that works without issue and some that's 300x300 that doesn't.

I thought it might be size on disk but I have some art that's 40k that works and some that's 20k that doesn't. I even tried to scrounge all my art from the same source online (Amazon) to make sure it's all in the same format.

I'm now wondering if Uconnect is caching some info. I'm going to wipe the card, pop it into the car, then reload it with everything and have it rescan.

I finally managed to talk to someone at Uconnect support that had acceptable answers. The answers were acceptable from a technical standpoint but not from a user perspective.

The Gracenote database in Uconnect apparently overrides all artwork on SD cards and USB drives. Turning off Gracenote will disable all artwork and having it on will display artwork that exists in the current database. Uconnect support has been asking Gracenote to provide an updated database but they have no ETA as to when, or if, that will happen.

I had the agent enter a formal request to include an option to allow file artwork to supercede Gracenote artwork in a future release. Doubt it will ever happen but at least it's now in their suggestion box.
