Bluetooth Phone Pairing Won't Initalize

Hello everyone.

A few days ago I unhooked the battery in my 2012 300 to adjust the battery terminals. They were loose from the factory it seems. When I hooked the battery back up everything came back ok. Except now I cannot get the Bluetooth pairing procedure to start. When I hit the button on the touch screen it flashes to the initialize screen for a split second and than the screen says "Bluetooth pairing not successful. Please start over." The phone worked with the system perfectly before. I checked for an update with Chrysler, there is none. I emailed the techs at Uconnect and they said I have to bring the car to the dealer. Is there another way around this problem? Is there a way to re-flash the system or reset the radio? I drive this car all day long and I need the phone to work.
Thanks.

When you say you can't get it to start, are you trying to use the existing connection? I would suggest deleting uconnect from the phone and deleting the phone from uconnect, then start over by adding a new connection. If you aren't sure check on the phone tab by hitting the + next to the existing phone on the phone tab. The delete option should be there. You may also need to delete the phone from the audio device on the phone screen as well.

Mods (2005 C): Stereo only, PAC SNI, Peripheral CHYX, XM Commander, AudioControl four.1, MTX TA5604, MTX TA5601, Polk MMC6500, Polk MMC690, JL CS212R-W0 (2013 C): None..........yet

I deleted the uconnect from my phone. When I go to add my phone, I hit settings, add device, and for a split second I get the "Start pairing procedure on phone or Bluetooth device." screen for a split second. And than it goes to the "Bluetooth pairing not successful. Please start over" screen.

Did you delete the phone from Uconnect also? It won't work unless that happens.
If you don't see the phone listed on the Uconnect page, then maybe something happened during the battery disconnect. I'm not sure of any way to reset the system (outside of battery disconnect which seems not to be the likely thing to do).

Check the Uconnect tab, you should see your phone there and you would need to hit the + sign to the right of the phone to see the option to delete it.

If it was paired before and now it's not there, then something has happened and maybe the only thing to do is visit the dealer.

Again, check Uconnect and delete any phones listed. If nothing else try battery disconnect, but before reconnecting, open the driver's door.

The phone is not there on the list. It seems the program to start the pairing is not working. What does leaving the door open when unhooking the battery do? Is there anyway to update the system or reflash the system? How does someone update the maps for the GPS?
Thanks. duster.

Opening the door kills any stored power, such as the retained accessory power. This makes sure the power has been removed.
I don't know of anyway to reset the unit. The update function runs when a USB containing the nav update is plugged in.

Any idea where I can find an update? Or how to flash to computer? To reload the Bluetooth software for the system?

You can check driveuconnect.com. there's a link where you put your vin in.

The Unfortunate thing is no simple reboot option is available. I don't know if this is compatible with starscan or other programmers.

Maybe try the battery disconnect with open drivers door.

Hey did you ever find a fix for this, my 2012 charger rt is doing this after i installed update from uconnect website. I call them and they tried to make me do a soft reset by holding down the VC and Phone button on steering wheel for 30sec then turning off ignition and opening driver side door, then wait 30sec so entire car can shut down. Then put car in RUN position. Did not work. Call dealer and they say $140 for software hard rest (not paying that just to get my bluetooth fixed)... im gonna try disconnecting battery for 30min or so. Please let me know if you found a fix.

The reset procedure fixed the problem I was having, but in my case I could pair the phone, but Uconnect kept issuing disconnect messages to the phone, causing the phone's bluetooth stack to fail. Very different problem.

Most of the time the voice recognition module needs to be replaced. I'm not sure a software reset will resolve a failing module, so I wouldn't risk the $140 only to have the problem come back.
