Just wanted to post a picture of the bezel after completed. Overall I'm preety happy with the outcome considering this was my first time modding a bezel.

great job !

why you do not have simply installed 2008 bezel ?

the size from the bezel and the attachments are nevertheless identical.

Thanks, Here is something to help you get started that I posted on LXF.

This is what you will need to mod the bezel:

Bezel
Plastic weld epoxy
Variety of sand paper
1 sheet of black ABS plastic
Bondo and glazing putty(as required)
Primer, Paint and clear
Time and patience

This was the first time that I modded a bezel, I think if you take you time you shouldn't have a problem. Just take your time, it takes time because there is a lot of waiting time between steps.(1) I glued the ABS into place with plastic weld epoxy. (2)Then went over it with a thin layer of bondo to fill in any uneven spots(it should only be tiny bit if any ,most gets sanded off), use the glazing putty for any small spots. (3)Then you’re ready for prime, paint and clear, after a bit of sanding of course. There may be a better way but this is what worked for me, others with more experience can chime in.

Here are some pics as I progressed, I thought I took one after prime but I can't locate right now.

Good Stuff

Im really glad you got this up and working. I am still undecided about this mod. I would like to have the mygig unit, but hate to be an early adopter. The clock issue is interesting to me. I wonder what exactly causes the issue. Oh well glad to see some one had the courage to go after this one.

Where did you mount your mic?

I assume the uconnect button on the old mirror is dead?

MyGIG is working great, the guys at coastal-Etech have been great. They fixed the issue with the Nav voice guidance, so the only issue is with the clock, which they said was a issue up front. There working on it but they say it will be tough task if at all possible. The cause is because Chrysler is supply the clock input to the mygig from one of the modules via the canbus.

The uconnect button is dead on the mirror but I know Chrysler sell a jumper Harness to use the mic on the mirror, It may also make the the uconnect buttons active but I haven't looked into it enough because the mic from Coastal was much cheaper.

Here is where I mounted the Mic

That bezel looks great but has anyone come up with an easier fix than that?

Durango Bezel

I used yours as inspiration and modified the bezel on my 2006 Durango to accept the MYGIG I just put in. This is such a great unit compared to the old factory nav that was there before. I've pulled the audio from my rear VES into the MYGIG so I can get the sound through the speakers if we have more kids then headphones but I'm still trying to get the video from the back screen up to the front so I can have the same movie on both screens.

Great Job! I want to do this. Now I have to find a MYGIG at the right price. I am confused about the NAV antenna. Why doesn't the installed antenna not work and what did you replace it with? Where did you get it?
