No sound from stock radio anymore

Hey,

I had taken the radio out to do something and put it all back in. Now my radio has no sound. It turns on, can play CDs, tell me the titles of the songs and even plays ( time of the song goes up as if its playing ) but theres no sound coming form the speakers at all. I took it back out and check all the pins and wires to make sure i didnt ruin en but they all looked fine.

The radio works fine, but its like the amp isnt turned on so no sound comes outta the speakers.

I also noticed I had to reset the time on the radio but the presets were still set. and for some reason my evic went back to displaying things in imperial instead of metric which it was set to before this.

I'm wondering is it possible my car no longer knows it has the BA6 system and so it doesnt try to turn the amp on thinking there is no amp?? can that happen when the radio is disconnected for a period of time?

Oh and the check engine light is on when the key is in the on position and the car is off (no codes displayed tho), as soon as i start the car it goes away. when i set it to on, all the lights on the evic light up as normal but after they all shut off the check engine light blinks a number of times then stays on. anyone know if this is normal or not?

Any help would be awsome.
Thanks,
Bryan
