Yeah, I was hoping for some mention of better service, but I guess that would be an admission that the current 5* status is pretty meaningless.

DC Canada, which is a separate corporation (sort of), went through a similar restructuring, starting 3 years ago. The Plymouth brand was dropped, some Jeep franchishes were chopped, and the new dealerships became Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep franchises.

The process is more or less complete. The 5 Star rating appears to be of value here. The Canadian dealers live and die on CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) which relates mainly to the service and warranty process.

In my neck of the woods, the ones that got the axe were the right ones, IMO. The current sales success will be good for small markets as there will be businesspeople lined up to take over even a small store if DC chop out the current owner. If they are smart, they will pick the best of the best.

DC are building good products. Let's hope they can bring the sales and service in line. Lexus seems to set the standard in this area.

Let 'em Know

When you purchased your #00 C you soon after got a questionaire.
The comment I made to them was they now have to be GD sure they have a level of quality to match the awsome machine they now have.
If we as proud owners keep afte DC about what a great car they have and inferior service the 5* won't mean a thing....they will fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about the dealers in Canada caring about there 5 star rating. At first I really didn't believe the hype about the "5 star rating" and pretty much put all the DC dealers in the same pot. But after changing from a non 5 star dealer, the difference was very clear. When I purchased my 300C the dealer must have reminded me 10 times to make sure that I gave them good marks on the survey that DC was going to mail out. So far I can say that the 5 star rating system for DC is working in Canada. I had a minor problem with my car which was fixed in a very timly manner and the service dept at my 5 star dealer is very polite and willing to help out the customer not screw them over. I remember back in 97 when I purchased my Jeep from the same dealer I purchased my 300C, the service dept was rude and had even damaged my brand new car. Since then the dealer had a complete ownership change and now is a 5 star dealer which in the back my head some how made me pick this dealer over anyother dealer.

Same thing happend to me when I bought mine they were "up in your face" about the questionair and even stated about how a bad survey or an unhappy coustmer could cause them to lose there 5* rating.
however they were kind of careless on my first 5000 km service leaving greasy finger prints on the driver side A pillar but a quick complaint and they were more then appoligetic about the situation. no harm done
Overall we will see how the next one goes and ill update you shortly as the 10000km service is next week.
