2006 SEMA show...Pictures.

SEMA 2006

Well it was a very fun, eventful and exhausting time had by all. After having a long day on Tuesday, in Houston, and arriving in Vegas around 7:00pm. Bo and I checked into the hotel and then met up with Fatchance, TMagnum and a few other members at the Pink Taco for some dinner, at the Hard Rock Casino. We had a rental, the new 2007 Sebring sedan. Nice car, but it had a 4 banger, no power. Our flight was a little late in getting to Vegas and Meister could not wait any longer and had to make his journey back to AZ. Sorry we missed you Meister, we will see each other soon Amigo. After some much needed food and Margaritas. We headed out back into the main hotel area. Holy Schnikes, it is Halloween eve. and I must say the ladies sure know how to dress in costume, or lack of them, lol. Let me tell you this one woman wore the adult version of the costume (Pochahontis).

With the night going on and a full day of SEMA ahead. Bo and I called it a night. I crashed hard and was up early the next morning to hit SEMA. Bo loves Las Vegas and has been several times (SEMA, CES, with the wife, Bo got married in Vegas, like ChargerGirl did recently, etc). He knows all the ins and outs of Vegas and he was going to take me to a famous breakfast buffet before hitting SEMA. We get to the buffet, WTF, closed for remodeling. So we go back to our hotel (Main Street Station) and find that they had a huge breakfast buffet all along, lol. Make sure you have the omelette chef make you his famous omelette's. You tell him what you want in it, then he throws it all in the pan with the eggs. Then mixes it all together by launching the entire contents of the omelette a good 5' straight up in the air and cathes it all back in the pan. The Main Street Station also has there own Brewery inside the hotel. The 777 Brewery, Filet Mignon Hamburgers, Fried Cheescake, Pizza to die for and the seasonal Pumpkin Spiced Ale, was delicious.
Bo and I set out for our first day at SEMA. The weather was great, sunny skies not a day over 75 degrees. Since Bo had his entry badge to SEMA already and I didn't have mine yet. He dropped me off at SEMA and went to park the car. While I went and met up with my friends over at US Wheel, to get my SEMA badge. I was prepared for a long day and had on my walking shoes, water, cell phone, camera, etc. On my way to meet US Wheel. I saw some rides outside the hall and had to get a few pics first. Took my second picture when all of a sudden my camera and hand were not together anymore and then I heard crunch. Yep, ole butter fingers dropped his digital camera from 6' up onto the hard concrete surface below, ouch. First thing I thought of was the 3CF is going to kill me. I promised pictures from SEMA and now the camera is R.I.P. What really sucked was that the next turn I made outside and there were all of our forum members LX's sitting pretty. No Camera. At the end of the first day, Bo and I found a Best Buy and I was able to get a similar camera I had before, just updated and for less than I paid for the one that just died. Sweet. I charged the battery that night so the camera would be ready for day 2 at SEMA.

The first day, with my camera broke, I met up with many members who would eventually end up coming by to see the forum members rides. It was good seeing the members I had seen before Fatchance, TMagnum, 1Bad4Dr (ron and his wife), RedFox, I even met the member who makes the shaker hoods for the LX's and the first one for an SRT (RedFox's). Justin from AAC was on hand with his wife. It was also a great pleasure to meet up with Jeremy from PowerPortedPerformance and "Mr.Mopar" (my buddy) from CreativeTurboSystems. Then a little bit later it happened, FreebirdSRT & TommyZ got to meet up for the first time. Tommy was there with his fiance, but like the busy man he is. Was back at it, having many stops to make along his journey through SEMA. It was great to see old friends and putting names to faces of new friends.

I also got a chance to meet up with Josh over at HHP, again, lol. Josh and I have a good laugh because if there is a big event, he and I always bump into each other. SEMA makes our third time seeing each other this year.

I did not get a chance to meet ChargerGirl but when I heard she got married while in Vegas and at SEMA. Now I know why I didn't get a chance to meet her, lol. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. ChargerGirl.

Day 2 with Camera in hand.

The 2006 SEMA Show: 40th Anniversary
Celebrating AMERICAN MUSCLE Past-Present-Future

I'm gonna start with our own forum members who made it to the Show. Sweet.

None of the 5 LX's chosen by DCX would not have been there without the tireless work of our own Fatchance. DCX should have taken a back up, #6. There were only 4 LX's on display, not 5.

Fatchance:

1Bad4Dr:

The HEAT Performance 5.7 blown and the 7.0 L 426:

Armadillo: 5.7 Monster.

RedFox0099: 7.0 L 426 Stroker.

Group shot RedFox, Armadillo, Fatchance.

Just outside the main entrance to the North Hall was where SEMA showcased there 40th Anniversary exhibit: American Muscle (Past, Present,Future). It is the same area where the forum members LX's were part of the exhibit as well. You can see Fatchance's car in the background.

Mustangs (Past and Present)

I wanted to show you how big of an exhibit this was and more of the beautiful cars on display.

The future of this beauty will be in showrooms in 2008. The Challenger.

GTO (Grand Touring Option)

Olds 442.

There were also alot of other LX's on hand.

This is with out a doubt the finest 300SRT out there. This 3SRT was in Chryslers booth at last years SEMA show. It was back again for the second year in a row, in the Mothers section. It was an honor to finally meet the owner of this fine ride and we talked for quite some time. Dave Zeckhausen was a big part of helping the owner get the car completed for the 2005 SEMA show.

The owner had a spoiler integrated into the trunk lid. Very clean and looks OEM. You can't tell it was added on or even see a line.

A one-off Hogan Manifold.

Custom one-off engine dress panels. Check out how the stock shock caps were cut and shaped so the adjustments could still be made to the suspension without removing the caps. GSM Supercharger.

The TommyZ Design RacerBee RT.

Vortech Supercharged 5.7, it is hard to see but the roof has a large glass roof and the front half of it slides back open.

This Charger belongs to a member on the Charger Forums.

The G-Force Suspension Charger.

Sweet looking rear spoiler on this 300. Does anybody know who makes this one?

The Norev 300, from this years French Auto show.

Another sweet looking Magnum to 300 conversion.

Another 300 with an integrated spoiler into the trunk lid.

The ABG Charger, but the wheels have changed design and color since I last saw it.

Chargum #002. The second Charger front end on a Magnum that I have seen. I really like how they worked the wider fender line of the Charger fender, into the Magnums fender line. Not a big fan of the color choice though, lol.

Just around the corner from Ron's (1Bad4Dr) Charger was this Nomad. I had to take this picture for our own Hemeee. Hemeee has a beautiful Nomad and I thought of her when I saw this beauty.

Is that an LS motor under the Nomad hood, you better believe it. Sweet.

A Pontiac wagon.

Another sweet wagon.

I know you need to shave weight to run faster in the 1/4 mile, but I think they went a little too far, lol.

Nothing like a beautiful bike to go with a beautiful car. And matching paint themes, even better.

Daimler Chrysler at SEMA. Wow, very impressive showing for DCX.

Lots of excitement when DCX announced that there new crate motor, the 392 Hemi, was Plug N Play. The fuel injected 392 Hemi crate motor will come with 525hp...

...and the carbureted 392 Hemi crate motor will come with 540hp.

Now that is a plate few will have.

Bad to the Bone Charger race car. I love the paint job on it as well.

Our Heritage. The 1957 Chrysler 300 C. Without this car being made we would not be driving ours today. This beauty has been highly modified though.

Daimler Chrysler at SEMA....continued.

The rest of the 1957 Chrysler 300 C.

Updated with modern engine, wheels, brakes, etc. But kept the OEM 300C medallion and the chrome spears on as well.

The Foose built Hemisfear.

Gotta have the Hemisfear truck to haul the Hemisfear with.

Looks like Ralph gets to race all the models. Go Ralph Go.

How'd they get that full size Bee into that display case. I'm a Bee Leaver. LOL

Trucks at SEMA. I love Trucks, lol.

With my new camera in hand, on Day 2 of SEMA. The first thing I came across was this little yella fella. I mean how could you miss it,lol.

This sweet Jeep was from Texas. Anybody want to go Rock Climbing?

Exactly what everyone should have when traffic gets backed up and you need to clear a path.

Big Red Ford.

This truck has so much clearance they were able to install the Train Horns on the underside of the rear wheel wells.

I'd like to see somebody put those Tips on there LX, lol. Those are Ginormous.

The go anywhere, do anything kind of truck. A work horse.

The International.

The ultimate tail-gater party truck.

Big Ennis and Little Ennis,lol.

Help...I have fallen and I can't get up.

Big Brother is there to help.

Now that is a Utility Van.

Search and Rescue

This is my favorite truck roaming the planet. The conversion is done by a company in Georgia. Shaq was the first one to have one of these Ford F-650 Beast's built. This one has 6 doors. The front doors open Lambo style while the back 4 doors each open Delorean style.

To give you an idea of just how big this truck is. Here I am in the picture. I am 6'4" and 280lbs. I look tiny next to this Ginormous truck.

There is not a trailer in the world that can attach to that ball hitch, lol. The truck is so big, they fit a Winch in the rear license plate location.

This truck can not get lost in the crowd. Bo had to drag me away from this bad boy. I could have stayed all day just looking at that sweet ride.

That truck made this Ford F-250 look like it wasn't big enough anymore. Plus check out the license plate. I saw that and thought of our own DUBSTER (SSSSSSSSick).

A few more Trucks at SEMA.

The ultimate 5th wheel towing.

This is a Dually truck but with one fat wheel and tire in back, instead of 2. Look at that lip.

Hummers everywhere.

So you can take a few more friends with you.

Now that is hauling your chopper in style.

You better watch out or you are gonna get Donked. Can you believe that 3 of these were at SEMA. I didn't want to take this pic, but just wanted to show you what got in at SEMA.

Another shot from the Daimler Chrysler booth.

I am going to post these wheels in this section because these wheels will only fit on a Truck. This is a 32" wheel and a tire to fit it.

It seems the wheel companies are always one step ahead of the tire companies. Here is a 34" wheel but no tire made for it yet.

Some people were asking just how big is the SEMA show. So I took some pictures of the various halls the show was held in. Still didn't come close to showing you all that was there.

One of the many outdoor areas you walk through to get to the buildings.

Inside at SEMA.

Ford had an entire wall of one of the interior Halls.

Rat Fink was even on hand.

Out back behind one of the halls. There was the Motor Trend Proving Ground. A SEMA participant would be paired with a driver and the driver would take them on a very fun ride.

More from SEMA.

This was my favorite ride at the 2006 SEMA. Simply amazing from front to back. Nothing was overlooked.

This car makes Elanor, from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, look like a distant memory. Elanor better go sit on the porch, there is a new big dog in town.

There is a 392 ci Stroker Motor under all of that, lol.

Twin Supercharged and Twin Intercooled on top of the 392 Stroker: 900 hp.

It was a tough choice for me but Obsidian was my ultimate favorite. This beauty came in a very close second.

They don't make rear ends like that anymore, lol. I wish they had the Rumble Seat opened up in back, AKA (The Mother-in-law seat),lol.

Well we have reached the end of the road folks. 2006 SEMA was a great show. I hope you have enjoyed the pictures. Hopefully I will see even more of you at 2007 SEMA show.

This will be the Miscellaneous section.

CEC/Brabus MercBenz

Another mean looking MercBenz

This little guy packed some bite.

This Mini gave me a Woodie. LOL.

A Re-Bodied C5 Corvette. Using a front and rear end from earlier generation vettes.

These Supra's just simply amaze me. So much beautiful pipe work under the hood.

This new product introduced at this years 2006 SEMA show was a hit. Doug McGoon is the brainchild behind the new D'Vinci Forgiato Polycarbonate wheel. Doug is a first time exhibitor with D'Vinci and won 11 International New Product Awards, at the show.

Looks great in the picture, even more impressive in person. If it is on a car, what a pain in the a$$ it would be to keep the back side of the wheel, clean.

I really like this wheel but on the right application. On this Chopper, which would not be a daily rider, the poly wheel looks slick. Gives the bike a hubless look but still having a hub. Plus it would be far easier to clean both sides of the poly wheel when on a Bike.

No thanks, I would rather drive this to work each day as my commute, lol.

Another front and rear end custom like the red corvette, posted in this post.

Good thing you turn with the front wheels, lol.
