Shocking! A Journalist with a 300C complaint!

This guy did not like the ride of the 300C. He says and writes that the car is too stiff.

"It's a terrific car, it's just a bumpy ride away from being magnificent"

Pics with his audio review here:

Hemi C drivers get ready for low mileage:

"Trip computer in C test car showed 10.5 mpg in town including cold-weather idling to warm the interior; 12.3 mpg in warmer weather without the idling. Trip computer in V-6 Limited showed 14.3 mpg around town with no cold-weather idling."

Hmmmm... From the Car and Driver article.

"The 4140-pound 300C Hemi scores 17 mpg in city driving and 25 on the highway in EPA tests. The Car and Driver test, admittedly riotous, resulted in 17 miles to the gallon."

Found here...

http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=8009&page_numb er=1

From 10.5 to 17, thats a huge difference.

That reporter either dosn't know what he is talking about, (regarding the suspension), or he was in a defective 300C and riding on some lousy streets. Your right though, he is the only one so far to have anything negative to say. Which is amazing considering the cutting edge styling, rear wheel drive and potential for bad mileage with the V8 and 4000lb weight.

I wonder if the car he tested had the proper tire inflation. I suspect the tires were over-inflated because I can not imagine a hard ride on a 60 series tire.

Very good point. Deffinatly sounds like an anomoly. Ride quality, to me, was very much like german tuned sedans. Just the way I like it.
