December 300 sales all-time record high

The December 300 unit sales were a record high of 16,250.
This is a 33% increase over last year December, and 51% increase over November.
What is really strange is Chrysler makes no mention of this huge sales increase in their press release. Maybe DCX had to give away the house in sales incentives to achieve the unit sales, or maybe some kind of one-off fleet sale with negligible margins. We can only guess why DCX didn't want to highlight and explain the huge sales increase.

When I was car shopping in Dec, you could tell all the dealerships were really hurting. I'd tell them I wanted an '07 and they ALL tell me "why do you want an '07? I can get you a great deal on an '06"

Over and over and over. Every dealership I went to tried to push me into an '06. Most lots were full of '06s. Kinda strange given the time of year. But it wasn't just DCX and 300s. Ford dealership near me had a huge banner offering $12k off MSRP and double factory warranty on '06 F150s. Craziness!

Yep, it wasn't just Chrysler trying to push out the 06s. Toyota was doing the same thing with some of their models. Our Toyota Sienna was wrecked (total loss) a couple of weeks ago and we had to get a new one right away. At the time, there were no 07 Toyota Siennas anywhere, period. There were still tons of the 06 Siennas on dealer lots, so we got a great deal on one of them instead! Almost $6000 off MSRP and 0% finanancing for 5 years with NO DOWNPAYMENT. I just banked the insurance check for our old Sienna and will use it for the down payment on my SRT8 My wife likes to put lots of miles on a car before getting a new one, so getting 'last years' model was the way to go anyway.

Looks like 1 of every 5 cars sold in Aus is a Toyota. Outsold every player.

Of course its an all time record high, when you walk in to Chrysler to buy a Minivan, you get a 300 for free now.
No wonder why the resale value sucks on American cars because they flood the market.
