I like the look better as the traditional bentley look is a little over used now and that breaks it up well. I'd go a little thicker with the strip maybe an identical thickness as the side framing. There is another grill that is much like that one, can't remember who has it though.

I was thinking the same thing. E&G makes basically the same exact grill also.
