Especially since I paid in Loonies and Toonies! Musta dropped 70 lbs.

I was asked about shifting. I used the auto stick extensively. Was rarely in 4th gear. I shifted down so as to have the right power selection instantly coming out of corners. Did not use the gears to slow down. Only the brakes. I let the auto stick do its own up shifting.

That approach worked well for me.

NR,

Thank You!!
That was one hell of an epic! The cliff hanger was great.

Now I know I have to go to a racing school.

Do it, kings. You won't regret it. Everything you learn just becomes reflex after a day of laps. It really does change your everyday driving - for the better.

I've heard Mid-Ohio is a great track - I've never been there but have seen SCCa races on Speed Channel from there a dozen times.

Felt like I just watched "Stand by me..." "it turned into a real barf-o-rama". Nice touch with the cell phone. Truly epic.
Tasha - that conversation was word for word.

Damn - us Canadians are just so polite. He hasn't called back and I don't really want to call him - 'cause when it's time to buy the 'stang, we will purchase at cost plus with no salesperson involved.

Teken, HL, 5.7, 300c_AWD, DaddyD, BigTuna - everyone - thanks for the kind comments. The 300C is truly awesome.

NR - By far this is the best post I have ever read on this forum!!! I was there word for word. Took me right back to the track... My pulse was racing through each turn and pass. When I read the cell phone call it just brought it right home. I was laughing to the point my wife came in and asked me what was going on. I can't wait until I get my SRT-8 to a track! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Your the man!

You can be damn sure that if this thing is even remotely appropriate for the 300C it is gonna get tested and marketed (starting with my C). If so, I would love to have you on the team as a beta-tester.
Jim,

If it's worthy, my SRT-8's at your disposal for beta testing! I have several laptops and a Dell Axim to test with. Let me know...

Not a chance. Those dogs aren't worth my time. Mac has as many, if not more security issues than Windows. But because the installed base is so hugely disparate in these platforms, the Windows security issues are more well known (the most well know in fact because they are the predominant supplier of OS's for PC's). If security is your thing, I'd reconsider your thinking. The greatest difference in Mac vs Windows is the number of users and the wealth of software. Some things are better in Mac, some are better in Windows. Overall, the public speaks loudly on who is the king of the personal computer world. Mac owners hate this, but it is a fact. If Windows were as bad a some people report, they'd fall flat on thier butts and would be filling for Chapter 7/11 tomorrow. Truth is that Mac and Windows are fine O/S's. If Apple hadn't pimped the Mac for so much $, they would have had a significant market share. Instead, they play like they are above everyone else. When they get a significant market share, I'll write Mac apps -unitl then, they don't get my time.

PS - as evidence, here is a list of new security issues (this week) that are reported on Mac...

6.8.2005 News
New security update is available for Mac OS X downloadable from the Software Update system preference panel.

6.2.2005 News
QuickTime 7.0 contains a security bug where a maliciously crafted Quartz Composer object can leak data to an arbitrary web location. Apple has released QuickTime 7.0.1 which addresses this issue, users sould upgrade.

With the release of Mac OS X 10.4, the version of FileVault included addresses an issue discussed in this FileVault advisory. Mac OS X 10.4 allows the user to securely delete the data, however the issue still remains 10.3.9.

Will keep you in mind as we get there. We may want an SRT8 also (to qualify). We'll easily be a few months away from looking at the 300 C & STR8, but if these seem to be viable (and I plan to try it out on mine to validate this), then we'll probably move forward and become a paying vendor.

And all of you guys with C's and SRT8's are just gonna beat the crap outta the other cars out there! No holds barred!

S W E E E E E T !!!!

Great writeup!!! I was so busy at work today that I just now am getting online again. Thanks Patrick.

Jim, looking forward to hearing more about the tunable ECU at the meet.

Pat, that was a phenominal piece of writing. It kept me on the edge for every detail. Don't those salesman always seem to have bad timing.
The one bad thing about all my custom installations is that I miss the mere brute power of my C. This brought me back...thanks.
