how bad has it killed yer performance wes? and what are the main mods youve done that has had the most impact on your 'brute power'? im sure your car is significantly heavier now, and the 22's reduce 0-60 and such, but im just curious.

also where ya been Wes? havent heard much from you in a while?

I can't wait for your testing - love to volunteer my C for Beta.

Well.... you made my day today with the great write up. My brother and I (him mostly) ocassionally run events over at Heartland Park raceway (ouside KC). He's a qualified driver and we've always used his modified 1992 Nissan 350Z twin turo. It's really an awesome car and we have a blast. Your write up just reminds me of those few times we've done this. We've talked about taking his 350Z down to Sebring - that would be a blast (as I would also take the 300C!).

PS - I also got a chance to race a 1984 Porsche 944 turbo out on an old abandoned airport west of Dallas (forgot the name of the place). That too was a blast. I think I'm gonna have to get more into the racing and take the driving school myself. I gotta believe that our HPSS tuner (ECU) is gonna work on the 300C and that it's gonna really make this puppy even more awesome.

Bravo NR,

That was a great writeup.
I will make sure to pass the word concerning the 300C's track worthiness.
Next time I'm on vacation in the U.S, I'll definitely have to make a visit to your neck of the woods. I've never driven on a track that small, but it seems like it would be a blast.
Hopefully by then I have a LX of some sort (still can't decide which one to get).
Thanks for sharing your experience, and reminding me how badly I need to get on a track again.

NR - Wow, what can I say. What a brilliant piece of writing, without a doubt the best post I've read. Thanks for sharing this powerful experience and it sounds like you represented the C very well. Since I'm less than a week from finally taking delivery of my C, your story only reminds me that this car is worth the wait.

Last year, I attended Buck Baker's Racing school in Rockingham NC. They strap you into a Nascar and the experience changed my whole view of what a vehicle can handle. You quickly realize that cornering is where all the fun is. I can relate to your friend w/ the ear to ear grin! I'm going to do it again in Charlotte in the near future.

The cell phone was a classic! That damn UConnect!!

Thanks for the kind words, Kridifur. If you do get over this way, give me a holla. Maybe we can go trackside.

BTW, I never thought of Le Circuit as small! What size of tracks are you used to?

NR, thanks for the great writeup, I read it twice with white knuckles as I took the corners with you in my chair!! I'm sure I'll be back to read it again.

Wow!

NR, a great testament to the capabilities of our fine automobiles when matched up with a competent driver such as yourself. I imagine most of us on this forum will never attempt such a feat but it sure is nice to know our cars have that kind of potential. I myself thought that if 350Z had accepted your challenge he might have bested your 300C on that road course. After reading your amazing results I now know I would put my money on you. Thanks for the wonderful account of the event.

Car and Driver...

Patrick, Congratulations on a great track performance and an excellent piece of automotive journalism. You have allowed us to share the experience with your excellent writing style.

While I recognize that not all the members can, or are able to take part in track events, it is important to give credit to those that actually flog their cars and prove the capabilities of both car and driver.

The enthusiasm and support that these members show is great. We should all be proud when the car of our choice bests the competition.

Thanks, QB409
