Smile Thanks

No need for the formalities...I am just a car guy like you all.

I am in LA as I write ...on business. Lots of 300's out here. Rims everywhere! I am still doing lots of interviews related to the car. I can't believe the interest.

I see a lot of Black and silver out here. I was in Florida last week for the Amelia Island show...afterwards we drove down to my mom's pad in Boca. Me and my wife and kids played count the 300s over a three day period. We counted 43 300s...a good 18-20 were cool vanilla and about 28 Magnums mostly graphite. All you cars nuts have turned these cars into block busters! It really inspires us to continue kicking butt. I am also glad to say we just started shipping SRT8's...my forum name is my ride...R G 6.1....

Hey question, do you guys like the subtle look of the SRT8 or do you think we were too conservatvie?

Peace and happy motoring..also give the MDS a chance (hehe)!

I can only speak for myself, but it was the understated (conservative) look, wrapped around pure performance, that got me to give up my one year old 745LI (something I thought would not happen for years)

car will be here next week...can't wait, and thanks!!!

Personally, I like the look.

Since the 300 series is such a radical departure (who would have ever thought the main full size product line for a N.A. company would be radical in the 21st century?), the SRT-8 only needed subtle outside changes - all in the performance direction. The interior is well done. The wheel design is outstanding and 20" which is what the wheel wells cry out for.

The balance is great. The car guys will know it when they see it - especially the tail end!

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks

Again it is a team thing...I have become good friends with a lot of the large car engineers and they are a great bunch of unsung heros. They found creative ways to do great things without driving crazy cost. The trickiest part is doing all that and instilling a soul in the car. I love how quiet the car is yet the the sound of the v6 and the v8's under load give the cars character. I also like the feel of the door handles cold to the touch. There are a bunch of great engineers that sweat all those killer electronics and the clever features. It takes a great team to do that. I just tried to make the wrapper and the proportions tasty so that all their work would not go un-noticed!

I like your comment about the car guys getting it when they see it...that was the idea the Q-ship/James Bond effect! Wait till the 6.1 breaks in at about 6000 miles, it really flies...

It is a lot of car to live with as you feel like you are stalking prey...

Go to go check with you all again soon...

I once had an Alfa 1750 Coupe. Was a daily driver, then a race car for me. The car was just so Zen - the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

I never thought I would ever have that feeling again from an automobile. I had a 300M and a 300M Special. They were nice cars. I first drove the 300C at a promotion in Ottawa where DCX let us run the vehicles through a pyloned slalom course.

The next day, I went to my dealer and bought a black 300C. It is even sweeter than my beloved Alfa from days gone by. Cars like this only come along once in a generation, if you're lucky.

I am in love with my C.

The DCX team did a great job.

we had a discussion about the srt-8's look.
The reason I like the C is because of the 'luxury' look w/muscle under the hood.
To me, the 8 is pure muscle and the subtle(color matched/no chrome) fits better for a muscle car.

If you and the rest of DCX can keep up the great designs at affordable prices(great idea to offer the 300 w/ engine options) you'll have way more folk driving DCX products.

Tell the dealers to catch up!!

I aslo had a 1969 Alfa GTV 1750..which I converted to a 2.0l. I loved that car too. Great lines, classic proportions. Glad you love your car...I feel the same way about mine. I often look back at it before I close the door to the garage and I have been looking at this car for nearly 5 years now!
