Uh Oh - SRT-8 Jeep Cherokee!

Power to the People-Who Want the Grand Cherokee SRT-8

Full size image: Here
Jeep's other news in New York is the introduction of the new 415-hp Grand Cherokee SRT8. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by the same 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 found in the Chrysler 300C SRT8, but slightly detuned (it's down 10 hp off the sedan's 425-hp mark). The additional power puts the GCSRT8's 0-60 mph time at less than 5.0 seconds, Chrysler says. Four-wheel Brembo brakes provide stopping power, and a lowered suspension and recalibrated stability control give the SRT8 more dynamic capability. Special 20-inch, five-spoke wheels distinguish the SRT8, and the SUV retains strong towing capacity of 3500 pounds. Sirius satellite radio, DVD navigation and Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity are available as options.

Can you say "Death By Rollover"?

I feel sorry for the teenage kid who talks his parents into this one. This just seems a little scary to me. The SRT-10 I can understand.

No more scary than the porsche suvs....... I think this is pretty cool! A decade or so ago Jeep had the baddest SUV on the block, the Limited Edition with the 5.9 V8 in it. Now they've got the big V8 in it again! As long as it's a limited edition run, I think it will be too much $$ for parents to be buying it for their kids.. I bet the MSRP is at or above the 300C SRT8

No GG Tax!!!

It most likely won't have the Gas Guzzler tax since SUVs are exempt due to their "truck" status. That will save an additional $2k over the 300 SRT8.

As if SUVs weren't dangerous enough....

If these become the new Escalades for Soccer moms whom insist on doing their makeup while talking on the phone, maintaining their spawn in the backseat, and eating in rush hour; I'm never driving ever again.

I'm selling all my cars and buying a gyrocopter like that guy in Mad Max.

Thumbs up Itz a flood of HP-Mad Mid-Sized SUVs!

Just in time to join the rush to "Horsepower Madness"
The TrailBlazer SS, features a Corvette-derived LS2 6.0-liter V8, rated at 391 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque; while the Ford Adrenalin features a 390 horsepower supercharged V-8 engine, SVT's first six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Hmmm,..., I wonder what the new Escalade's gonna pack? (can u say V12?)

I agree to a degree. If there's anything worse than driving next to, or behind, any SUV it's driving next to, or behind one with a distracted driver... of EITHER gender! I speed past them as though they were an 18-wheeler.
