Ride of the Month Winner - Wesexcellence

As we announced during our competition blitz, the ROTM contest has been judged and Wesexcellence was our winner. He wins a $150 gift certificate good with any supporting vendor on the forum.

Wes was kind enough to do a writeup, and a link to the photo gallery is below as well.

And now, a brief writeup about the car ------

I have been in the custom car audio business for 23 years. I started my own business in ’96 w/ a $5000 loan from my aunt. Now, two stores later we do over a million per year in sales. We have customized vehicles for P-Diddy, Jarule, Vince Carter, and other celebrities who had seen our work. We have been featured in over 15 magazines over the years and won 3 world championships in SPL competition.

Although we have a staff of only 6 between the 2 stores, we still turn out some pretty impressive mods.

Our latest is my 2005 Chrysler 300C. We started w/ some 22” wheels from Alloy Technologies and then went to the Lambo doors. We decided to go w/ a custom welded kit to allow further upward travel since I have back problems. Next, it was chopping time. We gutted the interior and laid Stinger Roadkill throughout. Next were the seats. We decided to cut the rear seats to allow for the sub extension travel. We went with black suede inserts to compliment the light grey leather.

It was a foregone conclusion that the dash was going to be modified. I decided on a 10.5” touch screen monitor from Accele and Drivesoft software. As we progressed, we added 3 more 10.5’s and Vizualogic 7” headrest screens w/ built-in DVD players in each. We went with MB Quart for our electronics and speakers. 3 MBQ1000’s power 3 MBP10’s for the bass. 2 MBQ4100’s power 2 sets of MB Q series components in the 4 doors. An Alpine EQ is inserted in the driver’s visor and a custom switch panel in the center console. We ran Stinger Expert series wiring throughout and 4 Stinger SP1700 batteries separated by a Stinger SR200 relay so as to always have cranking power.

A K-40 2000 front/rear remote radar detector w/ laser diffuser protects us from unwanted tickets.

An Audiovox 9800 series remote-start paging security system keeps us protected from someone who wants to borrow my C and a GPS tracking system w/ voice alert enables us to catch that would-be borrower.

Each door has plexi, carbon fiber, vinyl, suede, aluminum, fiberglass and wood grain as well as 8 led’s. The tail lenses are painted and reveal our company logo when lit.
The pedals are customized w/ our logo. The C has an Eibach 1.6 lowering kit on the front and the sound system takes care of the rear.

The unique element has to be the grille. Tommy-Z sent us a custom grille trim ring and we commenced on adding a 17” Accele monitor connected to the Drivesoft system in it.

We get double-stares nightly as we play music videos or are on-line which can be seen by passing drivers. With our Drivesoft system, we can access our E-mail, check vehicle dynamics, play movies, mp3’s, CD’s, fm radio, XM and much more.

Over all I am pleased with the work done on my C. I have to give special thanks to my technicians Steve, Kelly, and Phil. In addition, my wife Renee and the two Melissa’s for keeping our stomachs full during the build, which took 6 _ weeks working only after 6pm.

I don’t know how we will ever top this one or if I have the energy to do so.

I wouldn't expect anything other than this great decision.

Was it any question? For me the only question was why wasn't Wes's car up for ride of the month before?
Congrats on a well deserved award, and a beautifully done car.
Like I said before. Next time that I get down to Florida, I've got to see this car, and try to meet you.
