300 BHP, whats the best way?

Ok, this has not been done to death yet I dont think. I have a spider box which I had on the previous 2006 CRD and transferred it to this one 2010 SRT Design. I am trying to get peoples opinions on the best way forward. I intend to upgrade the intercooler, air filter and map. I can get a straight map from Celtic tune which gives 290BHP which with the K+N or equivalent and intercooler should give around 300 or as near. Is this the easiest way? I was going to swap it but I just can't let it go so I thought I would spend some money on it and keep it a little longer

talk to Tim & Paul since they've already had a CRD to 314HP (a facelift 2008)

I think I will go for a remap, Intercooler and filter. I spoke to Celtic and it in the region of £1500 for a hybrid turbo which you need to go much further. There is a Celtic guy only 5 miles away although he doesnt have a dyno. Do I need a dyno? I think not, the BHP claims are at the flywheel not the wheels and the figures are at the wheel with a guesstimate of losses.

IMHO dyno is great for either accurate recording of change when you start with a baseline, or they are good for shattering hopes and dreams

I thought the gearbox was only good for 300bhp so think you may need to factor in repairs or upgrade

I’ve had the celtic tune as a started and will have the intercooler done in the New Year. Really impressed with the tune. I had a spider box on previously and was very impressed with that. The remap doesn’t make a massive difference in power, noticeable but not dramatic. The car is more tractable, more drivable I guess would be the main plus point. Whilst there I mentioned my gearbox rumble and the owner explained they were not auto box experts so the subscribed to ZF Services Protech who would come out and diagnose gearbox problems. Upshot was he rang them, explained my problems and they recommended that the gearbox should have the adaptions reset. I had 'pulled the fuse' previously and reset the gearbox learning memory which I thought worked a bit but quickly returned to the grumble. Now had it done by Chip from Ashton services at Bradford and Yipee the problem has disappeared. There was a new gearbox software upgrade as well which he did as well. So far so good.
