Wheel nuts!

Had a right palaver yesterday - was checking the tyre pressures at the petrol station yesterday - while doing the offside front the valve snapped off - its only then you realise the problem of not having a spare or wheel brace! Anyway, called the RAC - He had major problems getting the wheel off - the dreaded swollen nuts! Got the valve replaced, but want to replace the nuts with decent quality ones - anyone got any recommendations - I am running stock 20' SRT alloys.

Thanks in advance

Bob

Gorilla nuts, Ask KB or I think Chrisp might have them too.

Same problem with the SRT 20 inchers, I replaced the lot with smaller 19 mm ones.

Try Flea-Bay, plenty choices.

I say anything that isn't a capped nut. Gorilla is also highly recommended.

Nowadays most tyre pressure machines at the petrol station are self retracting and all it takes is a tug and the stem could snap. As a precautionary measure, I now use a portable electric tyre inflater, which plugs into the cigarette/auxiliary socket and leave the engine running whilst it inflates at its own pace.

The Gorilla nuts are high quality, other brands to consider is Mcgard, which is equally good Alternatively carry a breaker bar in case the OEM nuts swell up.

Gorilla on mine, very happy with them, if you get aftermarket just make sure you get the right angle for the seating

Thanks for the advice - noticed the Mopar locking nuts I have are made by Mcgard, and those are good quality, so have ordered Mcgard nuts- they are stocked in the UK so should get them quickly.
