I went to farside customs in Chula Vista and they did my 2011 with 20% all the way around for 150. They did a bang up job too! I'm going back to get my other car tinted in the future.

Not all tint is created equal. Not saying this is the reason for the price you got quoted, but sometimes the more expensive places are using the better 3M films or Llumar/Formula One films. Those are MUCH better than the cheap tinting places and you will pay more for them.

The better films are optically clearer, have less glare, filter UV almost completely, don't interfere with the radio and reject a significant amount of the heat. Quality costs money.

^Well said. FWIW, they use American Standard Window Film(ASWF) I don't know how "good" it is but it works well in my 300 and it rejects 99% of UV's.

Oh, and they provide a lifetime warranty.

There's a place in Huntington Beach called "The Tint Pro's" that has a sign in the waiting room that says "We fix $99 tint jobs". I thought that was pretty funny. I've used them and Campbell window films and they're both good.
