How do I clean off dirt/rust on paint

I am stationed here in Germany and have a Cool Vanilla 300C. I clean my car about every four days and every time I notice black and orange dots on my car...I'm guessing from the snow and the stuff they put on the road to melt the snow. Some ppl tell me the orange spots are rust on top of the paint. I previously used Bug/Tar remover which doesn't work so good. Does anyone know or have recommendations on what I can use? Thanks

Sounds like your car needs to be clayed. Just make sure you wax/seal the paint afterwards. There's lots of info on it here in the detail section. Also you can read about it here

Thanks alot...that site has great info. How do you suggest I take off the current existing spots before I use clay? The orange "rust" spots come off w/ bug/tar remover but are pretty stubborn so take a bit of rubbing. Would the clay work?

I'm pretty sure what you are seeing is rail dust. You see it more on light colored cars. it occurs from the friction created by the steel wheels against the steel tracks when your car is shipped from the factory. Clay will get it off. Gary for more info vist my web site www.perfectautofinish.com

Dont worry, your not alone on this.
My trunk and Driver side door sill has rust spots all over it.
Clay bar is the way, but im waiting for the weather to get better before anything.
Let me know how it goes.

When your car was build it most likely went on a train for delivery. That is where it comes from. Gary

It was only until winter when theses orange spots started showing up. My car had no orange spots when I got it about 10 months ago. I clean as much as many as I can when I wash my car, but they always come back.
