Shark Attacks SRT8

My wife was waving this machine around the kitchen doing detail work when I came home the other day. I said, wow wow wow, put the machine down and back away!

Shortly after, I took it out to the mancave and this thing attacked the dirt and brake grime on my wheels like you would not believe. It's called the Shark...see photos. It is your basic house steam cleaner. But she said that you cannot buy the cheap(er) ones. This one runs about $79.

I was able to clean my wheels, inside and out...and brake calipers in a matter of minutes. I also went into the engine bay and got into the smallest of groves and cleaned like you would not believe.

The photo shows where the machine is on, but it looks like it is barely pumping out steam. It's just how the photo came out, because this thing pumps out like mad.

The photos showing some darkness on the backside of the wheel are just how the natual wheel is on the SRT8...trust me, it is sparkly clean.

Hey Moose, I've got one of those things somewhere around here. I'll have to find it and try it out. I know it works great on bathroom tiles & stuff. Good idea.

Steam Buggy

I was up late watching TV one night and I saw an ad for a similar product. I think it was called a Steam Buggy. It wasn't too expensive so I bought it, primarily to clean the tiles in the shower and it worked great for that. I never even thought about trying it on my wheels. I'll have to dust off the old Steam Buggy and see if it works to get the dust off my wheels! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the idea.

OK I have to ask because usually when I'm up late watching the paid advertisments I have been drinking and I don't retain too much, and I haven't seen one of these before, how does it work. Does it steam it off or does it soften it up and you wipe it off.

Good question, bdjupiter...and thanks for posting the links, SRT8DRVR.

Basically, you dispense water into the unit and it takes a few minutes to steam up. You simply flip the trigger and steam sprays out pretty fast. On most of your tough grime, you will need to rag off the loose stuff. For instance, I have been driving my SRT for about 2 weeks without a bath. I have been cleaning the outside of my wheels, but not the inside. So you can only imagine the grime on the inside that has built up. I simply sprayed the inside of the wheel, to include the caliper, and then stuck my hand in the wheel and wiped away. It took about 2.5 minutes per wheel and they are 'purdey'''

When I get a chance, I'm going to post the store info etc. and, the exact model my wife bought for reference.

Moose.

Wonder how well it will take off the extra rubber in the wheels wells after being at the track.
