Angry just put my rims back on for the summer but white spots all over them!!?

i had my rims in a shed all winter and put them on today

they have what looks like little rust spots but white

i been trying to clean them for a hour but they wont come off

i just got the rims last summer only put about 2kmiles on them,so let me know if you guys got any good ways to get it off.or if you know what it is

It's definitely sounds like typical aluminum corrosion.

my dad said paint thiner but that does not sound right at all

I take it that their just bare aluminum if that happened and not clear coat.

If they are NOT clear coated or painted or chromed in any way you're in luck.

Go to an auto parts store and get some aluminum polish/compound and start rubbing. It will take some time but your rims will have never looked so good when you're done.

That's what's good about aluminum, it can be polished out to a nice finish with a little elbow grease, whereas chrome can pit and rust.

Don't fret. It happens. Next time keep them in your basement.

Yeah I use Eagle Aluminum Cleaner/Polish and go to work. Do it just like you wax a car a lil area at a time, soft cloth and go to work. Good Luck.
