I've got scratches

I pulled a bonehead move.
I went to a DIY carwash.
And not thinking I used their foam brush.
Of course I put a couple scratches on the side of my car.
I was thinking about using a little rubbing compound but I thought I'd ask Gary what he'd suggest.
Before I got started.
Thanks in advance....

Run you finger nail over them if you catch the finger nail your going to need more work than just polishing them out. Start with the least abrasive compound and move up from there. Gary can suggest the right products for you, hopefully you can get them out easily!

if it's with one of those foam brushes, it can't be TOO TOO deep. If it's a really shallow scratch, work it with some menzerna intensive polish or something of that nature, if it's something a little deeper, maybe throw some optimum polish at it. Just depends on how deep the scratch is and how it's looking. a photo would help a ton!

I need the info as well... I watch Gary's DVD... I think wet sanding is in order. But I might just opt for a new paint job in the summer.

Chances are they are not too deep, for starters, get my DVD it explains everything. get some of my cleaner/polish using a terri pad, work the product in the opposite direction of the scratch, follow up with my sealant, if it still shows, using same product, try an orbital buffer, gary

Will those products work by hand?

I don't think optimum will by hand, but the menzerna polish i have used by hand before, and it's worked pretty well on some shallow scratches.

Gary's paint cleaner/polish is a quite mild abrasive. Lends itself well to either hand or dual action buffer useage. Don't know about the other products.
