Silver Steel...hard to care for?

I am in the process of choosing a new srt8 the dealer has a silver steel in stock and a black one. I have had numerous black vehicles and was wondering is the silver steel easier to care for? I usually just pull into the car wash and spray them off daily and wash by hand once a week but they never look to good mid week.

Get the Silver Steel . I love mine . Black is beautiful....but a nightmare to take care of ...as I'm sure you know/remember . I think Silver Steel is more forgiving when it comes to showing the dirt . You should also be able to negotiate a better deal if you are taking the one they have .It's a win/win and welcome to the forum . You will be even more addicted after you get the car...trust me !! Welcome to 24 hr tech service.........with a smile , Mike .

If you can, go with the Silver Steel. Black is a most gorgeous color.....but only when it's perfectly clean. Silver Steel is a wonderful color as well but will be much easier on the eye when it's not as clean.

As an owner of both black and silver steel I can tell you the silver steel is much more forgiving than the black. I adore black and was very torn as to what color I was going to go for. My SRT8 actually was ordered as a black one, but when they announced an new color I decided to go for it and changed the order. SS is a beautiful color and what’s more they aren’t making it anymore…..so you’ll have a collector’s item.

Silver Steel all the way! Even when it's dirty, from far away you can't tell.

I just got back from looking at them again. I always get a green blue from the silver steel??? The pictures on the board look better than in person. Man this sucks because I am getting one I just need to talk myself out of the black. OK I know...its not as fast.hehehe

I love Silver Steel. I remember thinking it had a green or blue hue to it, but it really just depends on the light I think. I get comments all the time on the color.

Best thing is caring for it. I have always had a black car and decided at the last minute (literally) to go with Silver Steel, I couldnt be happier. People ask me all the time if I just washed the car, when it had been days or more.

All that said, you cant really go wrong either way!!!

You know what you are in for with black. Any silver is going to be a stealth car when it comes to dirt. Thats the one thing I miss about my previous rides. I had people tell me "Its always so clean!" and I snickered to myself cuz I hadn't washed it in weeks. Just wiped the wheels.

I have a monthly pass at the car wash for unlimited trips now.

I really sweated over this very same decision. I told myself when I could afford a car that's just mine and functions only as a toy, then it will be black.

If this helps any, the original C I was getting/going in for was the Silver Steel. The color just has a great look to it. Well to make a long story short, I went in got the deal 100% done, and was waiting to go into financing to sign the papers. Im sitting in the showroom and stupid me I sat right next to a BEAUTIFUL Brilliant Black SRT8, I looked over, saw my reflection in the black, got up looked at it from different angles, had them page my sales guy and I told him "Marcus, your gonna hate me, But I have to have Black". Needless to say I got my black. It was just so beautiful. And when its in the sun, the different colored flakes are outrageous. But it is truely 100% a PITA to keep clean. But my god does it look good when it is clean.
