Im wanting to give the engine a touch up can anyone recommend whats a good cleaner and best way to go about cleaning it. Ive heard that pressure washing can damage a few things so i need to be careful.

I just did my wife's and my car this morning for the first time. Sprayed some Greased Lightning Orange Blast all over on both of them, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then sprayed them both off with water from about three feet away on a soft spray setting. Then I let them dry with hoods open for about an hour, wiped them down with an old Absorber, and they look brand spankin new. Both engines were completely cool, just started the engine to pull them out of the garage prior to spraying anything on them. They both started perfectly after cleaning them, just be careful throughout the whole process and you'll be fine.

Here's a little trick I use when I show my cars, after you wash & degrease you engine spray WD-40 on the engine, hoses, and all plastic parts then wipe them off with a dry rag. after your done let your engine run for about 5 minutes, you will see a little smoke and a slight smell, the WD-40 will bake on your engine and dirt & grease will cleane off easier next time.

I always just used Simple Green and a light spray from the hose...no pressure. Cover or avoid the damage sensitive parts and you should be fine.
