I'm NOT knocking Zaino here don't misunderstand me. Just want to post the facts. I contribute to many professional detailing forums and you won't find "Z" popular amoung the professionals, reason is because we have much better choices. "Z" is popular amoung the novice's and weekend warriors. The problem with "Z" is you have too many products to choose from (z-1 z-2 z-3 z-4 z-5 z-6 z-7 where will this end???? PLus it is more money than most professional grade. You have to pay extra for the ZFX additivive which is a marketing ploy, most professional sealants have the additive in the bottle already. Cost last time I check it was around $60 for the finishing kit. Mine is $20 (cleaner and sealant) I have always said if you are happy with what you are using, stick with it. I won't tell you how to spend your money, thats your call. Check my web site and see what "X" Zaino users are saying. Now for your questions, claying in itself will not remove wax, sorry for the confusion, yes you should use something likeliquid dawn. my cleaner is a mild abbrasive (with polishing oils) which will remove minor surface blemishes and prep the surface for the selant. sealant will last 6 months. Cleaner it is not a swirl remover, you need something more aggressive along with using a buffer to remove swirls. Hope that helps. Gary

Didn't opt for dealer-applied sealant cuz I figured I could do it or get it done cheaper. Called an autobody/paint shop today and asked about sealers - the guy said "don't bother, after about 6 months, the stuff will begin to PEAL!"
He didn't try to sell me anything so I'm wondering if he knows what he's talking about, was it BS or can the stuff really peal?
I intend on claying soon and am still torn between wax and sealant after claying. I've got a black C and live in the central valley in CA: H-O-T summers.
Anyone w/ info or guidance? Thanks.

.
Obvisouly he is an idiot !!
I personally have used paint sealants many times-
Never had any problems.
Just recently,I used Gary's products,they did the job;
and Very well I might add.
Don't just take my opinion,check around,
you'll find that paint sealants are the way to go.

I figured the guy was way off. So, sealant instead of wax? Guess I'll have to do some shopping on Gary's website.

Ever since I bought my Black 300C, I have been using a sealant (Zaino) instead of carauba wax. It cannot and does not peel. When my supply runs out, I'm switching to Gary's products. When it comes to keeping our babies pretty, he's da man.
