I hear there's a new PC buffer coming?

So I'm pretty much on the verge of buying myself a 7424, when a friend of mine tells me not to, as a new one is coming out at the end of the month. What have you guys got to say?

Oh yeah, and more importantly, what do you suggest for polishes? The 300C's finish has held up terrifically but we also have an older car that's really, really going to need some TLC on the finish (tons of swirls, and some scratches) - meh our 300 has scratches too but those are the kind that you can't do a hell of a lot about.

Oh yeah, and then I have a couple of questions? If I was to get a foam gun, would that be worth it? Or is Optimum no rinse worth a try? Or should I just stick to the usual meguiars' crystal wash I'm using?

regarding the 7424....if another PC is coming out....hopefully the 7424 will drop in price. if that's the case i can't see what changes could have been made to justify the new one. you'll be happy with the pc. (i personally have a griot's orbital and i've been very happy).

regarding polishes...different members will tell you what they like. it's important to stick with a quality brand, and understand it's going to be a multi step process (clay, polish, wax).

regarding washing...i've tried the no rinse method...nothing is as good as two microfiber sponges, one bucket of wash, one bucket to rinse your sponges, electric leaf blower, and high quality microfiber drying towel.

Meh, I think I'd rather use one of those water cleaning systems so the car doesn't get water spots. Electric leaf blowers sound a little on the .. crappy side. lol, especially since out here water is really hard.

Just washed my SRT-8 with Optimum no rinse this afternoon.

Biggest trick is making certain your car is TOTALLY dry, or you'll leave streaks. That being said - I love the stuff and will never wash another way again. Use 2-buckets though. 2 gallons of OPT no rinse wash mix in one bucket - 2 gallons of rinse your mitt water in the other. Can wash entire vehicle in the garage rain or shine, hot day or freezing cold.

sure, those expensive in-line water filter systems are nice. i've only used the cheap "spot free" rinse units and i just don't like them. i use the leaf blower just to remove the excess water and water out of all the cracks. i still use a good mf towel to dry off the car. it's a race against the sun/heat. thankfully i have large trees so there is ample shade.

i've never used optimum no rinse, so thanks for the insight jmatt.

For comparison sake, I have both the original Mr. Clean, and the new improved Mr. Clean spotless car wash systems (both were gifts). Relatively speaking they both suck. I'll give them away if someone would pay me for the cost and hassle of boxing them up and shipping them.

I prefer to use an inline filter(heavy duty) along with my pressure washer, two bucket method with my mitt, electric blower and microfiber towels to catch the last bit of water that escaped the blower....

Haven't heard of a newer Porter cable coming out.."yet"...Porter cable, Cyclo and Dewalt all have good orbital polishers

Cyclo also has an interior kit of brushes for the headliner, upholstered seats and carpet.

Oh okay I might go for a 7336 (found one for 119 and it has a 6" weight vs the 5" on the 7224).. Hrm..

Any suggestion for the velcro plate and pads? Oh.. and the liquid. :P Will the gold class liquid wax I have laying around (2 gift kits CHEeEAP) work with wax pads? I don't care if I have to hand buff
