Engine Detailing

Engine detailing is not rocket science, just time consuming. When I detailed this engine I used my water based dressing to bring the rubber and plastic components to life. As you can imagion,the owner was quite pleased. Gary

Gary your amazing. I would have used a cup of gas and a match to clean that cruddy thing... But you made it look great. Dude, you got skill!

can you go more in depth on the proper way to clean an engine. i read somewhere that you can spray it off with water and use a leaf blower to dry it. i'm kind of scared to be spraying water on to all that electric stuff going on in there.

Engine detailing is maticulous work. I don't like the idea of spraying your engine bay. although is can be done with caution. Some engines I have to use water, but whenever I can do it by hand that is thge preferred method. before you spray water on the engine do the following. I take foil (NEVER USE PLASTIC OR OTHER BURNABLE MATERIAL)I cover the electrical areas, and computer box. spray all purpose cleaner on it, use lots of shop rags and wipe down, then rinse. YOU also should have the engine running when rinsing it off. Gary p.s. wait till you see the truck from hell I detailed today. what a nightmare. will post pics soon. It made the top five of the most filthy vehicles I ever did.

can you give me an example of cleaner? something like simple green? i think i'll try rinsing with a spray bottle instead of a hose. seems like there would be less chance of messing something up. should i still have the engine running when using a spray bottle?

yes, simple green is fine and yes have the engine running as well. Then spray my Ultimate Dressing when you are done on all the rubber and plastic, that is what makes the engine bay stand. Gary
