I used a microfiber towel to apply, and a second microfiber towel to buff it out. The MF towels work great.

Please guys!!!!!!!!!! Don't use micro fiber towels for applying anything, think of them as finesse towels. No reason to get the fibers loaded with wet product, use a applicator pad to apply and MF to remove. Gary

Why is that? I bought an "Absorber" today and used it on my Black Metallic and didn't notice anything strange.

You won't notice anything instantly, micro scratches develope over time. When you use an absorber or chamois, they will introduce micro marring into the finish. If you don't clay your finish, it will happen quicker. Gary

Try to get products that do one thing at a time. Stay way from "cleaner waxes" and leather products that clean and condition at the same time.

Basically cleaning and conditioning or waxing are opposite procedures and combining them just reduces the effectiveness of both.

A very mild glaze or polish should be used to take out the swirls and bring back the shine.

You should be able to finish the glaze or polishing portion of your detail and step back and wonder why you need wax. Wax should be used only to protect. If you depend on the wax or any other topcoat by any name, to cover up problems, you are asking it to compromise the mission!

Of course sometimes it is almost impossible in one session to get the paint perfect, and then wax is relied on to cover up some problems temporarily, but they always come back. So getting the paint right before the last step will make your paint look better overall, and let your final step last longer.
