Exciting news

Here is a pic of my Improved water based dressing. I was faced with the challenge of getting it to last longer and I wanted to bring up the shine just a little. I have been using it now for a month now I'm ready to make it available to everyone. Here is a pic of how it looks.

Gary, please forgive my ignorance on the specifics of tire dressing(s). I normally have stuck with the spray foam. I know it doesn't last nearly as long as other dressings, but the "wet" spray I tried had an oil consistency which spattered all over the car after the first drive (no matter how long I waited to drive). Would this be one of those two or something entirely different? I'd love a longer last dressing, as long as it doesn't spatter all over the car like a spray wax almost.

I've always used this stuff:

http://www.superiorcarcare.net/golclasenhig.html

It never slings, and looks good even after driving in wet condtions from 1 to 2 weeks.

I would think the water based stuff would just wash away.

Well, you don't want silicone based stuff because silicone makes tires brown, so I think water based is the only viable alternative.

Not all tire dressings will sling off and mess up the car. The one I sell by Wurth, called Wurth Tire foam will break down into liquid within seconds and you can drive within a couple of minutes.

Some others will sling off and make a mess for close to half an hour or more.

It also helps to wipe off the rim or any small puddles for any dressing you use.

I prefer a spray on type because it isn't near as messy to apply. Spray and wipe the rim if necessary (mine won't hurt your wheels) just to keep things looking consistent.

Some dressings also become dirt magnets. Meguiar's Endurance is one that seems to collect dirt even after days.

Wurth Tire Foam will last for a couple of weeks or more, depending on how messy the weather is.

Mr. Happy you are correct in what you said. Tire dressings are broken down into two categories, solvent based ( which it sounds like the one you were not happy with) and water based (like the one I sell) The professional supply companies I deal with have been refining the chemistry on water based dressings for some time now. Solvent dressings do produce a "wet" look, problem is that the product is gummy/sticky/ oily/ and the sling damages your car. Water based dressings give the tire a more natural look, or satin finish which to me looks better anyway. After trying dozens of dressings from many suppliers I found the one that works for me so I thought I would share my research with all of you. The pics I posted show how it looks, and it will last much longer than most water based stuff. Gary

Most poeple don';t apply dressings properly. Not sure about other brands, but with mine you should spray on a clean wet tire. and allow to air dry. it will evapoate natually and leave a nice satin shine on the tire. if you wipe the tire down . Gary

That's all I use, and yes I agree it does collect dust a little at least till you wash it again. Even with power washing this stuff holds up for weeks. I never had a problem with slinging using it either. The sponge applicator works great.
