Gary Knows his S_ _ _!

Frank...they seem to work great but now Gary brings up micro maring so I do a search on it and find out it means tiny scratches. I then go out and take a look at my car real close and sure enough I see evidence of micro maring. I then go and perform the sun test and can noticeably see sunlight through it. Unfortunately I don't have a premium one to test. Anyway Gary has sold me. I'll be sending him an order.

The marring might be small enough to be covered by wax, but if not, 3M Imperial hand glaze applied with a cotton undershirt (be careful not to let the trim of the undershirt rub the car, just the body) wiped off with good MF cloths will take it right out. The nice thing about microfiber marring is...it's micro hehe

Marlin, don't take offense but you should not use a cotton tee shirt on your car. not when MF is around. You are correct about micro maring, (it is Micro) but on a dark color or black in the sun, it hits you in the face. Wouldn't it be nice if they were not introduced to your finish in the first place? In my clinics the first thing I tell people is that most scratch's/swilrls/ micro maring, (call it whatever you want) are introduced (not in a friendly type of way) during the wash and or drying stage. I can't go into it here, too long of a post, but proper washing /drying procedures will ensure your finish will stay in the best possible condition. I'm trying a little at a time to educate whoever wants to listen on how to keep that car looking new. stay tuned for more. Gary

True on the lets not put marring on the finish in the first place, I'm just letting him know how to take care of the damage that has taken place in the most delicate way possible. Can you really use MF to apply stuff? The MF I have is too thick and absorbant for that (I would waste so much of the polish just trying to put enough on that it gets on the paint). I typically don't use the undershirt anyways, what I use a lot for applying everything other than wax is these terry covered sponges sold by Lexol.

Hay

I used Gary MF towels much better then my WM ones. But as for Micro Marring it almost imposible to not get some. Even Gary's PT has them. The only real way not to get them is to have a fresh paint job and never touch the car's finish.

Marlin, sorry about the confusion, NO you DON'T use mf to apply anything. Much too absorbant, and besides you wouldn't want to "clog" the fibers by doing that. Only use MF to remove product. Eric, once I detail my own car, which I haven't had time for yet, you can come inspect it for micro maring. Then you can judge my car (LOL)

Thanks Marlin and Gary for the info. They really are very light scratches. I could only see them in the sun and only at a certain angle. Scarbrs makes a good point. It's just about impossible not to get mm scratches. Gary, keep up the education. People at work are starting to think im a detailing guru. Wait till I hit em with the micro marring.

Eric, man that hurt. ("Yes Gary your car was the worst at the meet") MAN, I mean why didn't you just say my wife was ugly, or my hair looks like crap, perhaps you could of said that I'm gaining a little weight, but MY CAR WAS THE WORST THERE??????? I know carpenters live in the worst houses, but detailers have pride. Next time just hit me in the face, it won't hurt as much as what you said. (*JUST KIDDING) Now I'm motivated to PIMP my ride. I'm, warning you the last car I spent all day detailing made the cover of a car magazine. Now you got me going. Gary
