What can i do to get......

I demolded about a year ago and when i took the passenger molding off i notice there were a diffrence in paint..under the molding was much more darker/ shiner i guess not being in the sun the paint didnt change.i took my car to a bodyshop and he told me he has to paint my hole right side of the car just to blend the door.It would cost me anout $1200 to get it painted. Is there any products out there that i can use to maybe lighten up that area so it blends in with the car.Dont know if i am explaning it right but i tried. So iguess iam asking how can i get it to look the same as the rest of the car. Thanks

Have you taken it to a competent detailer? Maybe his recommendation is to buff it out. Might not be a bad idea since it is hard to diagnose the issue here.

Is the color that much different? I ask, because it would not be the first time that a car was painted with the moldings left on after an accident, and the new owner didn't know about the accident until he took off the moldings.

Yes the color is much diffrent were the molding was.It looks like a shade darker than the door.My wife had the accident and my friend sent me to a shop that he knew. The person that hit my wife paid cash so the guy at the shop did a half ass job and was lazy not to pull off the moldings.Going to have the car detailed next week i see what happens.Really wasnt planning on spending that kind of money for it....I just saved for springs and dampers to lower the car..... now i have to choose wich one to do.lo

There's nothing that will fix it right short of repainting. There are a couple of half-azz things that can be done but if you want it done right, painting is the only option.
