paint correction with random orbiter?

im wondering if paint correction can be achieved with a random orbit polisher, im too scared to use a high speed rotary and they are way too expensive, could a random orbiter get rid of swirls and minor scratches? would it buff out wet sanded areas? how fast of a random orbiter should i buy, i see a couple from 2000 opm - 3800 opm

yes it can, rotaries are expensive true, RO's can get rid of swirls and minor scratches, there is a debate on how they do with wet-sanding marks.

the go-to product right now seems to be the g110 by meg's. the classic is the PC 7424, or ultimate detailing machine.
my thread on the 300 rejuvenation I did was all done using a PC. its possible, but will take awhile. Products will cost you as well: you'll need several pads (5-12 bucks each), several polishes (20-45 per bottle), some microfiber towels, and most important, you'll need to make sure to wash your vehicle correctly from now on in order to keep swirls away. if i can be of more help, let me know.

g/l!

thanks for the reply, i saw your thread a while ago and i was hopeing you would reply to this, hah, anyways there is a random orbiter i want to buy, its got hook and loop, 18v rechargeable (i dont have a garage which is why my paint isnt top notch and why im looking for a cordless machine) but it only does 2900opm, will this be enough speed to use with compounds? Also do you recommend Farecla compounds?

Purchase a PC-7424 and be done with it. I have used one to correct every kind of paint damamge, including wet sanding. It is all in your technique.

Check out this series of videos:

Wet Sanding 101 - Part I

Wet Sanding 101 - Part II

Wet Sanding 101 - Part III

I have a 10 part video series that explains the entire process of washing and polishing your car. The PC will more than do what you need it to do.
