the acid in the "love bugs" will ruin your clear coat! i use to have to wash my car 2times a day to keep the dead bugs off it.

This may be a little late. There is a Rain-X product called Bug and Tar shield that will help protect the cars finish. The old school approach is to use Pam cooking spray. Either way you should wash the bugs off at least every other day. I dont know of an automaker whose paint can stand up to the "love bugs" acid.

There are many posts in this forum about insect etching, especially from those nasty Florida Love Bugs. Many members have the 3M clear bra put on all over the front of their vehicles/mirrors for better protection from the damage. The extra protection gives them a little more time to get their vehicles washed....

The only people I know who might have gone to the dealer for such a thing were those who fell under the TSB listed below. You are no longer under warranty; however, you might want to try and use the repair method outlined in the TSB on how to deal with your problem.
