Sorry to see that mate, hope your ok. I wouldn't be surprised if they write it off. Has it bent the body frame around either of the rear doors? If you have a sunroof check to see it the roof has bent down slightly around each rear corner it.

The damage to my old one was a lower and a fair bit harder but the car that hit you was heavier (mine had a tow bar that passed the damage 18" up the chassis). I only had a broken front grill and the rear end damage when mine was wrote off at a similar age.

Hi

hope no one got hurt

Was nice car

Just looking at the damage, the costs of new parts and labour costs and the depreciated value of the car....yes it will be a write off.

mmmm yes.... i bet he was think "wow don't these boots crumple like paper - what am i driving"

I am amazed at the damage done, give the very low speed of impact

Yep, it looks nasty buddy , hope you have gap insurance just in case???

Looks like his bumper line is slightly higher, so the boot lid most possibly took much of the impact. What was the damage like to his 4X4?

I am copying your idea and liking the black box recorder, how does it mount to the car and where did you run the connections from? I found some on ebay.

Here look, another smack down, this is a right off.

Yes i am thinking of a rear one, i had the blackvue 400hd, but had 2 fail within weeks, so got refunded and got a smarty bx1500. so now thinking of adding a rear one.

Badgx there's just a 12v supply and auto rec when the ignition comes on, or you can set them to be on permanent or impact rec.there are lots of settings, main thing disable the gps speedo

this is mine

Thats pretty cool, does the gps speedo interfere with the satnav? If the speedo works, does it measure on kph or mph?

i turned the gps / speedo off, just incase of a carsh and the speed is logged onto the video....( its not HUD ) and you can set it to mph or kph

once you play back the video, it shows you the front image and your location on google maps

So sorry to see this, If this had been mine then the camera would have caught me smashing his face in on the crumpled boot.
