I've not had chance to check to boot yet, thats a job for the morning, as the hire car is being delivered and mines off to the bodyshop. The front end will need a new bumper and grill but the hood is OK.
The nearside quater panel will need replacing as well

Hope it goes well buddy. I think it was a good idea you had a black box to front & back, very handy to have, don't know when you might be it for evidence.

Also in the video after the smack, the 5th car which was passing was a silver colour 'C', which also slowed down as it passed the scene of crash. I wonder if that was a member.

Bummer for you, sorry to see that, but might be worse for him. He took a smidge over 30 seconds to get out of his vehicle after the initial impact, which is unusual if there are no injuries. Bearing in mind he didn't appear to be in any way suffering from the accident, I would hazard a guess that he was on his mobile phone as the collision occurred. Did the police attend the scene to make a report? If you have a contact, make them aware of the video footage as there may be a number of offences being committed by him. If necessary his phone account can be checked to see if the phone was in use at the time. If he doesn't have a hands free system in the vehicle, then he's in the soft, brown and smelly. Hope you get a good outcome from this.
