Repair Update, the mechanic opted for the resistor fix as he found the swirl motor was not in any working order. and i wasn't keen for any one to start pulling things apart that they weren't familiar with. I did speak again with the Aussie Agent for the GDE product and he admitted that they had not remapped the 300c system only Jeeps and couldn't see any issues. But He did state that if anything went wrong i was on my own, comforting thought for $950.00
I'm still keen on doing the flap removal and disabling the EGR valve system as i do like to run efficient engines. remember the days of a white/grey pipe on super leaded fuel! cheers Dodgey.

I would leave the flaps and old motor in situ, the old motor is holding the flaps wide open.

Dodgey just get a tried and tested 300C CRD remap from the UK. It won't remove the DPF but you will still be smiling, for two reasons, the performance increase, and the fact that it will be a couple of hundred quid cheaper.

Thanks Armchair, I think that may be the safe bet if you could drop a couple brand names i will follow them up.
I have also come to the conclusion that a code reader should be an essential part of kit for the tool box, but you really need one that reads the whole system.eg ABS etc What are your thoughts.

Well, there are a couple of main contenders, one is Celtic Tuning's 'Emotion' and the other is Viezu. As a bonus, both will also read error codes.

If you speak to Simon or Tim on here, I think they may be able to sort you out a deal on Viezu. I have the Celtic Tuning remap and it seems to work well with my car. Loads more grunt with no noticeable effect on fuel consumption.

If you do a search on "remap" in this forum you will find a few useful threads.

BTW You shouldn't have to pay the 20% VAT as you are buying from Oz.
