**** Main beam

Anyone else think the main beam is useless on the 300c? Has anyone found a replacement lamp that improves visibilty? My 92 Nissan has a better main beam than my 300c

although I havn't driven my car much in the dark recently, I thought the lights were pretty good. I have made no changes to bulbs etc from stock.

Fit HID lamps.

I don't think the main beam is that bad per se. Rather, it looks dim compared to the ultra bright dipped beam.

I'm trying to source a decent pair of after market HID's that have zero warm up time and to work when I flash the main beam. Please post up any useful ebay numbers or links, thanks.

KB posted up a link to the ones he fitted but I don't think they had zero warm up time.

All HID sets require a warm up time.

with my '06 and now especially with my '12, I get flashed all the way home in the dark because the oncoming cars think my high beams are on.

I have to flash the high beams to show them I am only running on the mains.

Still running stock bulbs in both cars.

The shape of the reflector is not all that brilliant but I wonder if the cree leds could be bright enough for the mains, maybe a boost up to 20w ?

I fitted a set of canbus 6000k hid's in my high beam, they do take a few seconds to warm up fully the first time you turn them on but they must hold the heat for a while after turning them off as they are at full brightness straight away if I have to use them again a few minutes later.

I haven't had any issues flashing people during the day, so they must see them even when the bulbs are cold.
