300 Estate Roof Rails

I'll hopefully get a price tomorrow. But, I'm actually now sat here thinking that ANY roof bars will do as long as they are around the right length.

Your not kidding, my car is the only tourer I have ever seen with them on and tbh I would have liked a car without them but the car was the right price so I live with them.

The silly thing is you would think they all had roof rails as there are loads of roof racks/bars for 300c Tourers on fleabay but 99%+ state only fit models with factory fitted roof rails lol.

I'd love roof rails but don't have the balls to drill my roof. I just think LEAK!! Good on you if you have a go

I would love these on my 300c... But to long since we have the sedan not the wagon in the states...

Went to dealers today and the total price for the parts is around £600 inc the VAT. Around what I expected. Now have to make the decision whether to buy the car I've been offered and first dig deep into my pocket for the parts and then my bravery to drill the roof!

I wouldn't drill the roof unless using nuts and bolts but that'll mean dropping them head lining a bit. I have seen roof bars fitted using nutserts on vans before and the roof had cracked badly around each nutsert, ended up making plates up and nut and bolting them on.

I thought the nutserts were only for the after market fitting option, but the Chrysler Voyager roof rails are fitted using them as OEM ! On the 300 tourer the roof lining looks as though you could lower it enough to get your hand in with bolts which agreed would be a better option !

As for using a pair of rails from another doner car, yes it could be done, the Audi A4 rails (look similar to Chrysler )are there on fleabay as is the Citroen C5, in fact the C5 look alot more aerodynamic, which may be quieter ?
But one thing to keep in mind is that the Voyager and probably the 300 as well as most others have a strengthening plate where the roof rails bolt to, fitting a non 300 rail set that doesnt sit in the same place may mean your drilling in a single skin area ?... just my thoughts !

Fitting the roof rail does take a bit of effort and the advice I was given by my dealer was not to retrofit it. So I went with a mopar roof rack and montblac bike carriers.. Works well and looks better than the square thules.
