Morning all,
I drove 48 miles in 3 hours in the snow on Wednesday without any issue. Arrived at work and got caught out in the works car park and kerbed it, badly.
Steering wheel is now at 15 degrees when going straight, ABS and ESP warning lights showing and it doesn't go in a straight line.
On inspection it seems that the steering knuckle, item 3 in the diagram, is bent at the bottom
Chrysler have quoted £1,000 for a replacement, they gotta be kidding!!!
So I'm on the look-out for a used one.
There's a couple of C's being broken on eBay and I've emailed some breakers too.
Anyone got any other ideas?
Cheers
Steve

Sorry to hear about this Mr Gee.
I'd guess that the abs light is on, because the geometry is so far out, all the wheels are not rotating at the same speed anymore.
I'm sure you'll find a decent 2nd hand one without too much trouble. The breakers at Duxford, is likely to have one.
Best of luck.
btw, there is a new SRT wheel for £450 on fleabay .... ouch

i noticed this morning that someone is breaking an srt8 on ebay, sad to look at the pictures looks a bit of a mess so wouldnt be suprised if the steering knuckle is knackerd on that one too.
Good luck.
Steve, double check to see if knuckle is bent because you need some heavy G force to bent that thing and with that sort of force your alloy wheels will most likely suffered damage or at least buckled. You will need that wheel rotated regardless.
If the knuckle is OK, take it for a wheel alignment. Look for a dealer equipped with Hunter, that's what I use, its the best
If your knuckle is bent, get the parts from Charlton's, they arrange delivery to your door. I'm hopefully your upper and lower ball joints survived the impact?
Installation should not take more than 1.5 hours or 2 hours at the most. Once installed, you need to get alignment done, either way there is no escaping.
Rotated the wheels front to back.
Sorted the sensor so the warning lights are now out.
Alignment done but car still pulls to the left and doesn't feel right when driving.
According to the guy doing it, there was a noticeable difference in the gaps at the bottom of the knuckle when comparing near-side to off-side.
Thanks Bagdx, I've emailed them.
Madmax, yeah I saw that one too. There's also a silver one that's been rear-ended, so I've emailed them.
Paul, thanks, very intersested, let me know when you can. The alloy is badly scuffed around 40% of the rim, but it's not buckled.
Thanks for all the help so far guys, appreciated.
Cheers
Steve
That arm would seriously need some whackage to bend it and your road wheel would be at some serious angle, you've probably bent the TRE or track arm especially if your steering wheel is out and the dash lights are on....honestly never seen any knuckles on any car bent from kerb damage in all my years...bent or snapped from serious accident damage yes but kerb damage....no

I bent the rear knuckle and strut on my old Impreza by sliding sideways into a curb on a muddy roundabout. The wheel had a small scuff but the knuckle and strut were trashed. I didn't think a knock like I had could have done that kind of damage to the knuckle so I changed the strut first but the alignment was still out by miles out, changed the knuckle and all was good.
