Engine Coolant change?

Thinking of draining mine this week, is it straight forward to do? just drain from a bottom rad hose?, flush and fill with coolant and water mix as bottle instructs? Any tips, fluids, fluid mixes, flushes recommended?

You've just about covered it,when bleeding,just keep the rad cap off and heaters on full heat,keep feeling the top and bottom hoses for heat and flow,wait for rad fan to kick in,replace rad cap,wait till rad fan kicks in again,Bob's your uncle.....dead easy

Every 5 years,if you still have original coolant in you can tell it will need changing as it goes a cloudy yellowish colour in the expansion bottle,I changed mine last year (a year later than stated interval) and it went really cloudy and was only protectant to -7c,not forgetting that the engine block will be colder than outside temp,now it's up to full stength again at -37c

I did mine recently, easy job, except my water pump bleed screw stripped. But I drove the car on short runs for a few days and kept topping up, no problems since.

I used the Comma approved Hoat coolant, it was the only one I could source around here.
