Sounds like my kinda plan too....I like the black stuff first though
What "Black Stuff", you can'y mean Guinness you must mean old Diesel engine Oil.
Didn't know you could drink engine oil, might give it a try if you recommend it.
Don't tell anyone but I prefer Murphys to Guinness.... lol

Diesel too quiet!
I've just had the exact opposite situation. I was stuck in a traffic jam yesterday, in the centre of Guildford, when I thought the engine had stalled. No engine noise or vibration apparent, but no warning lights and the radio wasn't on either. I had to look at the rev counter to confirm the engine was running, but even then I didn't believe it until I upped the revs. I don't know what the secret is, other than always using BP Ultimate fuel and Mobil 1 lube oil.

Are you sure you haven't gone deaf, or got a lemon stuck in your ear. Lol
Mine too can be very quiet on tickover. It just gets that bit of clatter under load at the 1500rpm mark. Ray, I didn't know you could check injectors, did mine check out ok or is the noise to loud for fuel rail noise?
