Have you ever heard a playback from anything in an engine bay??? It's like an orgy of f00kn skeletons in a biscuit tin....lol
I get people over the phone saying listen to this Ray and I say to them what I've just said to you. I've even used the spider mic but it still doesn't give me a proper clue.

Done the screwdriver thing, even done the stethoscope thing too, nothing at tickover, it's driving from 1500 -2000 rpms, it's almost like a cammy VX Astra but not all the time, which is confusing ,if it was mechanical it would do it all the time but it just doesn't do on demand unless you're driving it and know when to bring it on

I regularly check my insulated pipes to make sure they have shifted back to rub on the cover, and all is still ok. Ray, looking at the engine (cover fitted) from the front of the car you will see a pipe covered in insulation drivers side bulk head a few cm away from the corner of the engine cover, you will also see previous wear marks on that cover.
