Exclamation WARNING: flat blade wipers

just a note of caution....I bought Bosch versions ( 485778220 )....the driver's side made 'grinding' noises occasionally & appeared to be scratching against the screen. When I could, I replaced it with a new one (thinking I had a dud, or one with foreign material trapped in the rubber), same type....ditto

Much to my annoyance they HAVE put fine scratches in the screen on the driver's side (the other side was fine throughout) - I've back swapped to standard blades. It appears that the plastic body in the centre, where the arm mounts, scrapes against the glass for some reason on the O/S....probably due to angle of attack

Now I have to try & polish it back to perfect

That's interesting! I've had a few pairs of flat blades from different manufacturers and all of them have juddered and scraped from new. I was just thinking today that I'd switch back to standard blades and see if it helped.

I haven't seen any scratch marks. but I'll take a closer look. Generally, I've found the passenger side blade has made the most noise though.

KEITH.

Mrs A has flat blades as standard fit on her car and they work well so I ummed and arrrrd over buying a set of for the 300C but decided on standard blades in the end.

I'm glad I did.

I put some on a few years back and they juddered and made horrible noises so I switched back,my Scooby has them as aftermarket fitment and they scrawp aswell, they lift the wiper arm up more than standard blades and I reckon they don't have enough downward spring pressure to wipe properly
