No it will not cover the tail pipes and you shouldn't need to lower them on an SRT Design (diesel). You do have to lower them a little on SRT8's.
There should be photo's on here somewhere of them fitted to Diesels and 5.7's (5.7 has the same rear boxes) Here you go
