iPod connector?

Is there a simple way of doing this?

AIUI, most wiring kits are simply a male/female interupt to the existing wiring so you unplug the present connectors, plug in the kit and then plug the existing wiring back into that. Any accessories then plug into the wiring kit.

So far so good except for cost, most seem to be fairly expensive, all [?] I want is something simple that will allow me to use the aux input of the REJ for my iPod [and if it can charge the thing at the same time so much the better]

Is this sort of thing available without too much cost or grief?

I paid about 80$ on this on amazon for my 1g with the REC.

if you would be happy with a 3.5mm headphone socket as an input, there a free mod that you can do. ill try and find the link if needed

As a last resort then yes and thanks for the offer. I just wanted to explore the possibility of an actual ipod connector which would charge the thing as well to try to avoid my present situation where the car is festooned with leads...

What did you buy, will it work with an REJ radio and how did you do it?

This is an inline FM ipod modulator kit, which will work for ipod. It has 3 frequencies, I go with 88.3 FM if memory serves me correctly. Then add a small switch, when you want to listen to ipod as it block other radio stations and all you do is tune to 88.3 FM and it plays your ipod at the selected frequency.

I added the switch and hide it between the drivers seat and plastic console. When you want to listen to the radio, you simply flick back the switch

This is the kit, but I have a different one though for my rec unit. Also the antenna sockets are different on ours and the adapter alone can be expensive but this kit I think by the looks of it comes with the correct adapters, but please do enquire to make sure that it will plug into the head unit

Don't be fooled - it is not USA specific...
Both of these require you to pull the radio out (most of the way at least) in order to connect everything up. The good thing is that it is not hard at all to do. I did it while my wife was shopping at the grocery store and finished it before she was done. Ha! Just a quick suggestion, if the one I bought also works for the REJ, the unit also has an aux-in RCA jack that I connected a Bluetooth receiver to (I needed a female 3.5 mm stereo to male RCA adapter cable in order to do it) so that I could stream music to my unit as well as make Bluetooth calls that sound better than the UConnect system... Just a thought. It solved the problem that I had when I got the iphone5 with the new connector... Good luck. And let me know if you want more on my install.
