dpf and cats removed

hi everyone
just wanted to give you my experiences with removing the dpf cats and having a remap
i had the dpf gutted and a remap done it made a big difference but once i had the cats gutted too it made a massive difference. It has more power it feels like a lot more torque and it seams to have better throttle response. It isn't much louder than stock but the turbo noise (mine having a panel filter and a cold air feed form the front bumper ) it is a bit louder but not stupidly loud.
i have lost 1-2 mpg so the computer tells me also the tuning box is gone now
i can highly recommend a dpf removal and a map

hope this helps you guys make your mind up on getting the dpf removed
thank you for reading

Nice to hear you finally found somewhere that can do it without having the MIL light on permanently. What dyno figures did it achieve?

I read that the contents of the Cat are worth some money to recyclers for the precious metals. Did you check that or did it all go in the bin

Re: dpf and cats removed

What is the best method of preventing the fault codes once you remove the DPF?

The contents themselves aren't worth anything once you've destroyed them.they have to be in it's case/housing/shell call it what you want and you also shouldn't handle the innards of a DPF either.
The only method of preventing fault codes on DPF removal is with a DPF delete programme
